AMSTERDAM LIQUOR POLICE STATION SET

AMSTERDAM POLICE LIQUOR SET

AMSTERDAM POLICE LIQUOR SET

Why don’t you bring home a ‘liquor and police station’ souvenir from Amsterdam in traditional red, white and blue!? Not your typical souvenir! This barware set has a little Amsterdam boozin’ & cruisin’ history to it. The tile, with a Delfstblue-like transfer, shows the image of the former District 8 building; it was the Police station in the western part of Amsterdam. The longdrink glasses are 1970s vintage from Wynand Fockink which is a centuries old Dutch ‘Proeflokaal’ (Dutch for tasting tavern) The little glass boots are meant to drink genever from, we could imagine they are police-boots though!

Tip from Mrs Jack: Visit Wynand Fockink, the bar at the Pijlsteeg in Amsterdam. Wynand Fockink  started a liqueur distillery around 1679. Nowadays liqueurs and genevers (Dutch gin) are still being made using the same 17th century traditional craft methods.

Exactly what you get: 1 ceramic tile (pottenbakkerij ‘t Spinnenwiel, Amsterdam) /2 longdrink glasses with advertising for the Wynand Fockink distillery (1979) / 2 shot glasses shaped like boots / 1 ceramic jar with a face in 1970s style. All items are vintage
