On this tray; which is oval with straight edges made from black bakelite (Philite). A turquoise bonboniere in pressed glass (1950s?). (Both items are vintage in mint condition) A pink, handmade, vase in glass (has minor surface scrathes at the rim). Nijntje (Miffy in English) is created by Dutch illustrator Dick Bruna, he created Nijntje in 1955. Nijntje is known worldwide as Miffy. Miffy is a small female rabbit in a series of picture books drawn and written by Dutch artist Dick Bruna. The original Dutch name, Nijntje, is a shortening of the diminutive konijntje, “little rabbit”. Nijntje has got her own museum in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
